- Before we read more poetry, let's take a look at Thomas Gradgrind, a caricatured worldview from Charles Dickens' Hard Times, to see what Tennyson and many Victorian poets were fighting against during the Industrialism and materialism of their era.
- Now let's continue reading the poems from yesterday's post to see if we can "see" differently than Gradgrind's ground-up grads.
Think of an object in nature and try to emotionally capture what it is by using strong imagery and language. Try to have your listeners "feel" what it is. We will read these in class.
